A twenty minute drive from my place in Sea Point and I was at the gates of the SAB Breweries. The exact location for this "watering hole" is just off Letterstedt road in Newlands and it is around the back of the actual brewery, but still on their premises. This water does taste pretty clear and from what I understand it gets tested on a regular basis to ensure it is contaminant free and "hard" enough to remain the best beer water around. *Recently I read that there is quite a science behind the water that goes into our favorite beverage and that it lends to so much of the taste that there are breweries around the world that try to scientifically emulate water from other regions. I guess this does make sense seeing as it does make up like 95% of the actual product.
I collected a couple of containers and headed for my next stop - Beerguevara - for some supplies with my eye on setting up my first Amber Ale and IPA this weekend. Quite excited to get this project rolling...
